Harley-Davidson already introduced its 2011 lineup, but most of the models only got minor changes. But among the big CVO’s and touring machines there’s a whole new motorcycle, the Road Glide Ultra, which is based on the Road Glide. The new model shares some of the features with the standard model, like the front fairing with halogen headlamps. But don’t let the nose fool you, it’s a whole new bike. Hit the jump for specific details.
At the heart of the motorcycle is a new, 103 cu. in. V-twin engine, called the Twin Cam 103, an over-bored version of the tried-and-proven TC96. The fuel-injected engine is rated at 102 ft. lbs. of torque at 3500 rpm, a 9.6-percent increase over the Twin Cam 96. Harley also introduced the Power Pak, which bundles the engine with ABS and the H-D Smart Security System as either standard equipment or an option on select Touring family models.
The Road Glide Ultra got an aerodynamic shark-nose, a one-piece, big seat, a King Tour-Pak luggage carrier, and hard saddle bags offer generous storage capacity and feature soft luggage liners. The Tour-Pak features side marker lights and an integrated passenger backrest. Vented fairing lowers offer additional wind and weather protection, and can be adjusted for rider comfort in hot conditions. The four-speaker, 80-watt Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio system features CD/MP3 player and CB/intercom with two headsets. The electronic cruise control is standard equipment. The new Road Glide Ultra starts at $22,499.
