Brammo, the electric motorcycle manufacturer announced its new bike, the Empulse – a brand new naked street fighting machine. The specifications of the bike are quite impressive: top speed over 100 miles per hour, price below $10 000. The Empulse uses the Brammo Power battery pack and Brammo Power vehicle management system.

The streetfighter has a liquid-cooled AC Synchronous motor in an aluminium beam frame with a tubular steel swingarm that actually pivots on the motor housing. The electric motor delivers 55bhp and 59 lb-ft of torque but the bike weights just 390 lbs ready-to-ride, which gives it a power-to-weight ratio of .141 hp/lbs and a torque-to-weight ratio of .151 lb-ft/lbs. Your next question could be the range, and here comes the trick. Brammo offers three range-differentiated models. The 6.0 (6 kWh) is said to be able to cover 60 miles, the 8.0 for 8.0 (8 kWh) and the 10.0 (10 kWh) for 100 miles.
