The 2011 ZX-10R will make its debut this October, but the guys at theJapanese manifacturer continue to leak details over the Internet. The BMW S1000 RR made a spectacular entry into the supersport class last year, but the Japanese manufacturers don’t like the idea that the Bavarians steal their customers, so Kawasaki is going to strike back with a strongly revised ZX-10R for 2011.
The motorcycle will have a new inline-four engine with more power and torque. What’s more important, the engine’s torque peak has been moved North on the tachometer. According to their statement, „By moving peak torque higher up in the rev range, torque valleys were almost completely eliminated.” Further, “All excess mid-range torque was cut…our priority was to make it easy to open the throttle.” There’s no word on highest power output but Kawasaki says that new bike is already producing a higher top speed in testing than their existing WSB version of the current ZX-10R. The new machine will be significant lighter than this year’s version, with weight-savings in the frame, the fork, wheels and harness, among other parts. We will see the 2011 ZX-10R in October this year.
