When BMW introduced the S1000 RR back in 2009, rumours suggested that there will be a naked version. But then the manufacturer shattered these rumours, so small tuners have to do the job. So did the California-based Evoluzione Cyclesports. The naked version is equipped with raised streetfighter handlebars and integrated mirrors. The US tuner that sells tuning parts for Aprilia, Benelli, Bimota, BMW, Ducati and KTM, kept the asymmetrical headlight but removed most of the plastic. Read the full article »

From 2013, Moto3 replaces the 125GP and the bikes on the grid will be powered by Honda engines. The Japanese brand finally released a video about the new bike. The 250cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine can rev up to 14,000 rpm and should make close to 50hp. The new video gives us an idea what the final shape of the machine will look like. The Nürburgring doesn’t need any introduction, the famous German circuit is simply legendary, Jackie Stewart once called the track the Green Hell. This historical circuit, which opened in 1927, is being threatened by a €400 million debt. The scenario is typical. From 2007-2009 the German government built a huge Leisure Park at the Nürburgring. For the 2011 model year, the Suzuki GSX-R 600 received some technical updates. The new GSX-R is a bit shorter, which makes it easier to handle, while the new aluminium chassis is lighter than its predecessor’s. The brand new engine is one of the smallest in the 600cc segment and uses the classic RAM-Air direct injection. The exhaust and air valves are all made from titanium, which further contributes to the weight loss. The brake system comes from Italian brake specialist Brembo. If you are familiar with Chris Pfeiffer’s work, you know that the professional stunt rider has definitely no fear. In this latest video, the guy is running head to head with Olympic Gold Medal Bobsleder Christoph Langen in Innsbruck, Austria. In the video, Langen started at the top of the run and Pfeiffer at the bottom on his BMW G450X. Timing was critical, Pfeiffer and Langen ran each other passing side by side on one turn. If someone wants to tell a story, he writes a book, stands on a podium and begins to read it. German company Custom Wolf decided to tell the story of legendary carmaker Porsche in an unusual way. They built a Porsche tribute bike which reflects the sportiness and exclusivity of the brand. The custom machine is powered by a 113 cui engine from S&S with gold plates screws which is mated with a Harley gearbox. The sound comes from revised LA Chopper’s exhausts. Read the full article »

Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is investing CN$5.1 million into the Centre de Technologies Avancees BRP at Quebec’s Universite de Sherbrooke as a support to develop hybrid engine technology for BRP’s Can-Am Spyder roadster. Additionally, the Canadien Government will add an extra US$6.1 million into the four-year project. The Can-Am Spyder roadster, first launched in 2007, is a totally unique machine, and the hybrid version will be the only electric hybrid roadster development project in the world.
