British manufacturer Morgan has revealed today the 3 Wheeler, together with a video footage showing the classic model. This isn’t the first threewheeler of the brand, from 1909 to 1953 around 30,000 Morgan threewheelers were manufactured in Malvern and many more were made under license by Darmont Morgan in France. In 2011, Morgan decided to relaunch this exceptional design, and the 3 Wheeler is already approved by the US and European road transport authorities.
The 3 Wheeler carries its engine in the front and offers space for driver and passenger, together with a luggage space in the rear. The machine retains old school looks with a design similar to an airplane. The 3 Wheeler is powered by a 1800cc V-twin developed by S&S. The 1800cc engine delivers 115 horsepower to the rear wheel via a Mazda 5-speed gearbox for a top speed of 115mph and a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds. The company says they already have 300 pre-orders for the machine which will carry a price tag of £30,000 (around $48,000).
