Akrapovic is a Slovenian manufacturer which is known for making exhaust systems primarily for motorcycles. The manufacturer decided to build a custom chopper. Of course, Akrapovic didn’t build the Morsus on its own, it was created in collaboration with Dreamachine Motorcycles. Whilst its a one off piece of art, its a working machine which can be ridden. The machine was designed and handbuilt in Slovenia with the project coordinated by Dreamachine Motorcycles and Akrapovič leading designers, engineers and skilled craftsmen.
The Morsus is powered by a 1852cc V-Twin delivering 144hp which is coupled with a 6-speed Ecoline gearbox. Tomaž Capuder, Dreamachine Motorcycles, himself a winner of many international prizes for custom bike designs in Daytona and all over Europe, also comments: “This project was a big challenge for me. I admire the work of Igor Akrapovič very much and I wanted to put together two motorcycle worlds, racing and custom. I followed also an idea of special cycle chrono bike on 26 inch wheels, which was quite challenging, but I´m quite happy with the final result as the body of the bike from many angles looks like a Scorpion.”
You can see the visual cues of the scorpion – long associated with Akrapovič. We have also managed to use materials that we excel at producing – titanium, stainless steel and of course carbon fiber. The Morsus isn’t for sale but you can now put our innovative exhaust systems on your favourite Harley-Davidson models.
