Japanese company Yamaha announced its 2012 YZ250F, YZ450F, and WR250F off-road machines, the Majesty 400 maxi scooter and the XT250 and TW200 dual purpose bikes. For 2012, Yamaha’s Off-Road Competition line-up also comprises the YZ85, YZ85LW, YZ125, YZ250, the championship-winning enduro WR250F, the continued YZ-styled 2-stroke PW50 and PW80, and the 4-stroke TT-R50E, TT-R110E, TT-R125LW/E. 2012 models include new graphics, as well as the enduro bikes.
The YZ250F, already favoured by top riders thanks to its now legendary cornering performance, is more competitive than ever – thanks to a host of engineering advances. More efficient engine settings and lighter piston system deliver noticeably improved throttle response and power at mid and high speeds; a new gold chain; and for increased stability on jumps and turns, a new front fork is 150% more twist rigid, for an all-round improved riding feel. It’s a race-winning formula that surpasses current expectations for motocrossers.
The YZ450F has long been the choice of serious and casual riders alike. Now for 2012, it’s been updated for an even more competitive edge. With new standard fuel injection settings, riders will instantly feel more pick-up on those crucial out-of-the-hole starts; while new front and rear suspension designs combine lightweight construction with better cushioning, for pure comfort during race and recreational riding alike. Comfort is further enhanced by improved seating material, and the bike also features an eye-catching gold-coloured chain. The YZ250F and YZ450F are also available in eye-catching Sports White.
