Repsol Honda rider Casey Stoner pulled away from championship leader Jorge Lorenzo to win the Catalunya Grand Prix on Sunday. The Australian rider rocketed to his third win to the season. Stoner took the lead from Jorge Lorenzo on lap two and and pulled away. Lorenzo got a good start and was first into turn one, but he could not hold off Stoner. American Ben Spies came third ahead of Dovizioso and Rossi.
World champion Lorenzo tops the riders’ standings with 98 points from five races, seven ahead of Stoner who also won in Qatar and France. Dovizioso climbed up to third with 63 points, two ahead of Dani Pedrosa who missed the race with a broken collarbone.
