There are lots of motorcycles that shouldn’t be forgotten. We decided to start a new series about such motorcycles and the first bike of the series is the Yamaha MT-01, a cruiser in a sport package. This is possibly the fastest mass-produced V-Twin in a straight line with magnificent styling, plenty of torque and literally no practicality. The new S1000XR is BMW’s answer to the great Ducati Multistrada. The fourth member of the high-power BMW Motorrad line-up is based on the S1000RR and it’s powered by the detuned version of the big brother’s magnificent inline-four. It’s not uncommon that large car manufacturers take a detour into the world of motorcycles. BMW produces motorcycles for 90 years now and Mercedes-Benz bought shares through its AMG department in MV Agusta. There are even rumors about Ferrari getting into the bike business. Jaguar is also not known for its two-wheelers but Hungarian designer Tamas Jakus still created a Jaguar motorcycle concept called the MC7. Read the full article »

Taiwanese startup Gogoro revealed its new Smartscooter during the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. The Smartscooter is not just a new electric bike - the company has proposed a new idea to dramatically reduce battery recharge time – the Gogoro Energy Network, “a modular battery-swapping infrastructure for electric vehicles like the Smartscooter that can be deployed across a city to provide portable power.” Read the full article »

But now Walz Cycles has filed for bankruptcy and CEO Michael Krohek has sacked all seven employees. However, the insolvency may create an opportunity to start something new and exciting. Recursion was a turbocharged concept motorcycle shown by Suzuki at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show and it was one of the best looking bikes Suzuki has come up with in a while. Reports from Japan now suggest that there is a production version in the works. It should be a lightweight, middleweight-sized machine powered by a turbocharged 588cc parallel twin. MV Agusta has accidentally confirmed the 2015 F4 RC as the Italians have released the pricing structure for their 2015 MY motorcycles in the US. The street legal version of the new F4 - to be raced in World Superbike next year - will cost $46,000 in the US and around €40,000 in the European market. Other good news for MV Agusta enthusiasts in the US that several models got a modest price decrease. Read the full article »
