The American manufacturer has just announced the availability of a new engine. The Screamin’ Eagle 120 is a huge, 196cc (120 cubic-inch) V-Twin that produces 106 horsepower and 117 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheel. The engine is already available in the new Touring models while certification is pending for 2010 – 2014 Touring models. The motor comes with a one year warranty and costs $5,695.
Ever felt that 103 cubic-inch in your motorcycle isn’t enough? If your answer is a yes, you had to go with the Triumph Rocket III, until now at least. But it seems that the new Indian with its 111 cubic-inch engine is the one that made Harley rethink its line-up. What they’ve come up with is the Screamin’ Eagle SE120ST. The new engine was developed and tested in Milwaukee and is street-legal when used with original equipment mufflers or Screamin’ Eagle Street Performance Exhaust System.
The SE120ST features big-bore cylinders, 10.5:1 high-compression nickel-plated forged pistons with teflon coated skirt, titanium piston rigs, high-lift cams, CNC-ported MVA heads with automatic compression release, SE Pro High-Flow 58mm EFI throttle body, high flow injectors and manifold clamps, factory-machined engine cases, machined lower rocker boxes for valve spring collar clearance, unique piston oilers for stroker clearance, and performance spark plugs. The crankcase, cylinders and heads are painted black and feature machined aluminum highlights and chrome covers.

Equipped with a Screamin’ Eagle 58mm Throttle Body that’s 18 percent larger than stock, this engine is capable of producing 106 horsepower and 117 lb-ft (158 Nm) of torque at the rear wheel. As a European rider, you could laugh at these numbers. To put it into perspective, the monster V-Twin in the Triumph Rocket III delivers 150 hp and 221 Nm (12.9 lb-ft). Still, the performance of the SE120ST is great if you compare it with smaller Harley engines. Even the HO 103 cubic-inch V-Twin does not come close to 106 hp at the rear wheel.
For best performance, Harley-Davidson recommends combining this engine with a Screamin’ Eagle 58mm High-Flow Air Cleaner (P/N 29400222, $159.95) and a Screamin’ Eagle High Flow Exhaust System (P/N 64800022, $1,299.95). The SE120ST is designed to fit 2015-later Touring models and it does not fit Twin-Cooled models. Certification is pending for 2010-2014 Touring models. Engine includes a one-year warranty.
