Ducati announced that the 162-hp Diavel Titanium is ready to hit the dealerships. Titanium, carbon fibre, top-quality finish and dedicated design plus billet components – all that for $32,590 (€28,740). You won’t see often a Diavel Titanium in the wild since Ducati will produce only 500 units of the custom power cruiser. The Titanium is more than a mere name and a couple of design upgrades, the limited edition bike is lighter than the base model. Read the full article »
Honda and Yamaha are recalling sportsbike owners over a faulty Ohlins rear shock which could come apart during use. Since the Yamaha YZF-R1M barely hit the market, the recall only affects 350 owners while Yamaha has to notify all 2014/15 CBR1000RR owners. In total, 934 aftermarket Öhlins TTX series shocks are being recalled because the piston nut on some rear cushion shock absorders may not have been correctly tightened to specification when being manufactured. After many years of stability, 2015 was an important year for Vespa. They launched the brand new 946 and Primavera scooters and updated many older models. The GTV 300 is one of these older scooters on the line-up, a bike that offers plenty of history and retrospective design. KTM has just released its first electric motorcycle designed for asphalt use. The new Freeride E-SM is the sibling of the Freeride E-XC that was launched last year and it is powered by the same brushless motor producing 22 hp and 42 Nm of torque. The first electric supermoto of the manufacturer promises plenty of fun but the electric technology doesn’t come cheap: the E-SM costs in Germany 11,595 Euro” ($14,631 US). Read the full article »

Akrapovič has introduced two new exhaust systems for the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 that join the recently released GP Style Slip-On Line (Titanium) and optional link pipe to give customers an even greater choice of high-quality systems for one of the best superbikes in the world. BMW Motorrad and Alpinestars announced that they will work together to make BMW riding gear safer. The first product to be launched under this cooperation will be a BMW Motorrad jacket that includes an airbag waistcoat developed using Alpinestars technology.
