French custom bike builder Holographic Hammer has revealed the Hero 01, a custom Ducati Scrambler that has the true scrambler soul but still can be used on a day-to-day basis. One of the neatest concepts of the year is packed with modern technology. It has 17″ carbon racing wheels, a 4D custom Beringer braking system, modified headers, and plenty of bespoke bolt-ons, LED lightning system and much more.
Holographic Hammer was commissioned by Ducati themselves, in partnership with French magazine Moto Heroes. Holographic’s Sylvain wanted to produce something clean, road-biased and performance orientated. Sylvain said: “We had a few rides on the Scrambler when we were still discussing the project”, says Sylvain, “it handles really well and is very fun to ride. For us a scrambler is a bike you want to live with daily – you’ll scratch it, go through mud and dirt and even fall over.”

So they decided to build something road-biased – a modern cafe racer. The main frame stayed untouched but almost every other component is new or modified. Many sponsors helped the project: Rotobox delivered the 17” carbon racing wheels, rubbers came from Pirelli, Rizoma supplied an array of bolt-on bits, silencer is from Werkes USA, mounted to the stock Ducati headers. The beautiful LED taillight and turn signals were supplied from Cognito Moto. The subframe is all-new and it was built by hand. It holds a custom, brown leather seat.
The changes made a bike a 45 lbs lighter – dry weight is now 320 lbs. In addition to that, breaking system and suspension are both upgraded so the Ducati should be even more fun to ride.
The guys at Holographic Hammer didn’t change anything about the Scrambler that led to the bike losing its roots. What it did was make subtle changes to enhance the bike’s no frills character. And that’s a big difference!
