Wisconsin motorists have a new opportunity to support motorcycle safety initiatives throughout the state. Harley-Davidson Motor Company today announced it is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to offer the first-ever Harley-Davidson branded automotive license plate to motorists in Wisconsin. According to MCN, BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the mass-production of the Concept C starts in 2012. The radical concept was designed to show the future of BMW motorcycles and was unveiled at last year’s Intermot in Cologne. BMW also confirmed that the production version of the bike will debut at this year’s EICMA show. The bike is powered by a powerful parallel twin wngine. Members of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) voted on their favorite roads in America, and the top 15 selections represent scenic highways and byways throughout the country. Yamaha Motor India has now announced the launch of the FZ and Fazer Midnight Special Edition. The 150cc FZ and Fazer Series was introduced in 2008 in India, and the models gained immense popularity amongst youngsters. The manufacturer decided now to come up with a limited edition series, the Midnight Special. In yesterday’s meeting, the European Commission presented the proposal for new type approval rules for motorcycles. The Commission proposes to abolish the 100hp limit in France, as well as the introduction of new requirements for tailpipes. The document also includes the mandatory ABS and other new rules for engine modification. FEMA (Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations) reminded the Commission that vehicle aspects represent less than 2% of motorcycle accident casuation factors and said, the mandatory approach is limiting consumer choice. The 2011 ZX-10R features Kawasaki’s sport traction control, the S-KTRC. This system comes straight from the race track (MotoGP), and the manufacturer released a video now, which explains the difference between a normal traction control and the S-KTRC. The ZX-10R’s system constantly monitors the separate speeds of the front and rear wheels, engine RPM, throttle position, acceleration and other factors.
