Turning a classic inline-four japanese into a modern custom doesn't sound like an easy job, but the latest creation of the little company between Malaga and Sevilla is truly satisfying. The 1976 Kawasaki Z900 got a bandaged exhaust, low bars and black wheels, Öhlins forks, Brembo radial brake callipers and the latest wavy Galfer brake rotors. When Harley introduced the XR1200 last year, they decided to exclude the U.S. market which seemed to stoke envy and desire U.S. enthusiast. Good news is, that the flat-track inspired bike is available stateside, starting from $10 799 in black. The 2011 XR1200X boasts an air-cooled, silver powdercoated 1200cc Evolution V-twin engine. Brock's Performance tuned up the bavarians supersport machine, the S1000 RR. The BMW sends 203hp and 80 lb/ft of torque to the rear wheel, although the only change was a new ECU and exhaust system. Besides, the bike got BST carbon wheels, MacIntosh extended swingarm and lowered suspension. After the treatment, the S1000 RR ran the 1/4 mile in 8.49 seconds, while it's top speed was 158.46 mph. A rare 1952 Vincent Rapide has been discovered in California. The bike has only 8500 miles in his clock, so it's practically new. The classic british machine, painted in Chinese Red, has been untouched for nearly half a century. The motorcycle was found in Fresno, California, where it had been sold new by the local Indian motorcycle dealer, it has California black license plate. Piaggio has decided to launch Vespa scooters in India from 2012, starting with the LX125. India is the world's second largest motorcycle market with 8.4 million units having been sold in 2009. German Triumph dealer Motorcorner has built a special Street Triple called the Street Tracker. The builders transformed the R version of the Street Triple, and they did a great job, the bike looks just beautiful, although changes were minimal. The engine and the chassis remain unchanged, but the exhaust is an aftermarket piece for a racy sound. The standout specification change is the 17” spoked wheels, which have a unique fastening system. The R-based Street Tracker is on sale for $17 400. Read the full article »
The italian factory still waits to be divested from Harley-Davidson, so this news will likely come as little surprise. Larry Ferracci, Director of Operations, MV Agusta USA confirmed that "A smaller displacement bike is definitely in the plans for MV Agusta in the near-term future." To those, who pay attention to the italian brand, that's no surprise, because a three-cylinder prototype called the "F3" has been spotted both on the road and on the track several times in F4 fairings. There are custom bikes and then there are amazing custom bikes. The Hexagon Harley fits in the second category from obvious reasons. The bike was built by Horst Dzhangmen during three long years. Everything but the engine and the frame has been cut and built into perfectly shaped hexagons and this exceptional work took its creator three years of hard work to achieve this perfection.
