Kawasaki Racing News: Jubilant Sykes Wins Race Number Eight

The ninth round of the FIM Superbike World Championship, at Laguna Seca in the USA, saw Tom Sykes secure a podium place in race one and then follow it up with his eighth race win of the 2014 season, to extend his championship leading advantage once again. Loris Baz scored good points in each race and David Salom (KRT SBK Evo) won both SBK Evo contests to put himself into an even more commanding lead in the Evo class. Read the full article »

Historic triple with BMW Motorrad

Michael Dunlop also triumphs in the Senior TT on the Isle of Man. Isle of Man/Munich, 8th June 2014. BMW Motorrad and Michael Dunlop (NI) have repeated history, echoing Georg “Schorsch” Meier’s (DE) legendary Senior TT victory of 1939 on the Isle of Man. Dunlop’s third BMW-powered victory of the week came in the most prestigious race of all: the blue riband Senior TT race. Before that, Dunlop had already won the Isle of Man TT Superbike and Superstock races on the BMW S 1000 RR. Misano circuit name to be associated with Simoncelli

The board of directors of Santamonica Spa has unanimously accepted a proposal to associate the name of the Misano circuit with Marco Simoncelli. “We owe it to the memory of Sic,” said Lucas Colaiacovo, Vice President of the circuit. “We owe it to his family, to the hundreds of thousands of fans who admired his courage and humanity, all of the individuals in the sporting world and media who support this spontaneous and moving proposal. Honda NSF250R coming to the U.S.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., has announced that the 2012 HRC NSF250R will be available in the U.S. Newly developed for FIM GP road racing competition in the Moto3 class, the NSF250R is powered by an all-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder 249cc four-stroke engine specifically designed for racing. In 2012, this globally distributed model will also be legal in the USGPRU Moto 3 and WERA Motorcycle Road Racing classes in the USA, as well as in other local racing events. Read the full article »

Video: Chad Reed Crash

Footage of Chad Reed's spectacular crash on the opening lap of the second 450 Class moto at the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship's Spring Creek National in Millville, MN, on July 16. Reed had just assumed the lead, looking to take his fifth win of the season, before losing control of his bike and flying upwards of 50 feet through the air. Despite the frightening fall, Reed came away virtually unscathed, and after collecting his breath, returned to action. After crossing the line in 34th of 35 riders, Reed fought his way into 14th by the end of the moto. Read the full article »

The Isle of Man TT is one of the iconic events in the world of motorsport, and possibly the most famous road race in the world. "It goes from one extreme to another." says Guy Martin TAS rider and biker icon. Video: Chip Yates’s electric superbike at Pikes Peak 2011

Chip Yates piloted his homebuilt 240hp electric superbike to 14,110 feet setting the world record for electric motorcycles on Pikes Peak and placing 2nd in class. Chip was hampered by 2.6 agonizingly slow miles of dirt, a huge oil slick on the Bottomless Pit right hand sweeper, and many hairpins had dirt strewn across them.
