First photo of the 2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

What you can see here is the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS Carbon Edition. The bike goes into production this year but don’t get too excited because only 100 or so units will be sold to help get the 1190RS homologated for racing purposes. As the name suggests the 1190RS Carbon Edition features premium materials such as carbon fibre and magnesium. The hand-built machine will most likely appear at Daytona Bike Week in March but other sources say that Buell would bring it to Indianapolis Dealer Expo this weekend. Read the full article »

2012 Honda Goldwing revealed

American Honda Motor Company announced today the 2012 Gold Wing. The 2012 bike has redesigned fairing with extra wind protection, larger saddlebags, revised suspension settings front and rear for a better ride and more comfort, re-shaped taillight, new wheels, and updated instrumentation. The first opportunity to view the new Honda will be at the International Motorcycle Show in Greenville, South Carolina, February 25-27 and Daytona Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida, March 5-12. Read the full article »

Husqvarna launched the 2011 SMR 511 supermoto

The Swedish manufacturer launched its newest supermoto, the 2011 SMR 511. The design of the new SMR 511 outstrips that of other supermotard models and stands out immediately. The new design makes maintenance easier as the air filter, rear shock and throttle body can all be accessed with ease. The long seat offers completely free longitudinal movement and has been modified compared to the enduro version to improve rider comfort on longer journeys. Read the full article »

2011 Benelli Velvet 150 introduced

Benelli updated its classic Velvet 150 scooter for the 2011 model year. The strong point of the maxi scooter is its engine: the 4-stroke 151cc engine is Euro-3 compliant, reliable and economical. The engine delivers 11hp and 10.6 Nm of torque. The bike features a strong chassis, an advanced brake system with front and rear discs, a spacious and comfortable dual seat which ensures great comfort to both rider and passenger. Read the full article »

2011 Piaggio MP3 Yourban 125 and 300 revealed

Piaggio introduced its revolutionary three-wheeler MP3 maxi scooter back in 2006, and the bike proved that this unconventional formula with two independent front wheels is working: since its launch more than 80,000 MP3’s have been sold all over the world. Now, the company decided to refresh the 125 and 300cc versions. The revamped MP3 got a new name (Yourban) and lost some weight. Classic German bike brand Schwalbe returns with electric scooter

The original Schwalbe was a popular motorcycle in East Europe during the cold war. The bike, codenamed KR51 was manufactured between 1962 and 1989 by German brand Simson. Now, The „Schwalbe“ – literally translated „swallow“, the bird – will be back soon on Germany´s roads. In spring 2011 the efw-suhl GmbH re-launches the e-Schwalbe, a new product, which integrates the classic design of the former “Schwalbe” with a high performing electric drive concept. Read the full article »

Yamaha FZ8 R spy photo

Editors of French motorcycle magazine Motosblog were visiting Yamaha when they spotted something new. The company let them take a photo of the tank emblem. According to the picture, the Japanese manufacturer will reveal soon an upgraded version of its popular naked bike FZ8. They say the exhaust system of the bike comes from Laser. In addition to that, they spotted Öhlins suspension parts but not much else could be seen different. No word on when the FZ8R will make its debut. Read the full article »

2011 BMW K 1600 GT/GTL pricing revealed, starts at $20,900/$23,200

BMW Motorrad USA has announced pricing for new K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL models. The K 1600 GT will have a base price (MSRP) of $20,900, while the K 1600 GTL will have a base MSRP of $23,200. Both new models will be available for purchase through authorized BMW Motorrad USA dealers this Spring. The prices are surprisingly low, considering the old K 1200 LT retailed for $21,520, and the Japanese tourer Honda Goldwing carries a price tag of $22,899. Read the full article »

Horex to build W8-powered bike?

German company Horex announced last year that they have plans to produce a brand new, VR6 Roadster which uses two 1218cc triple overhead camshaft engine with two offset rows of three cylinder at a 15 degree angle. But rumours suggest that the narrow-angle engine is just a start – the original patents for the Horex, filed several years ago, include a second machine using an even bigger, W8 engine. Read the full article »

2011 Triumph Thunderbird Storm new photos

Three months ago, Triumph introduced the new Thunderbird Storm, and now we have new pictures of the bike. The Storm is eventually the dechromed, stripped down version of the Thunderbird. Triumph's iconic twin headlights, made famous on the Rocket III and Speed Triple models, and drag bars perfectly fit this street rod’s aggressive nature and are complemented by the deep metallic paint. The Storm is powered by a big bore, 1700cc parallel twin engine pumping out 98 hp and a meaty 156 Nm. Read the full article »
