MV Agusta has finally released the first photos about its new middleweight superbike. MV says of the new F3: „After years of continuous design and development along with ongoing research to create the most beautiful and technologically advanced 600cc bike of the world, the first pictures of the “real” MV AGUSTA F3 are revealed.” Earlier rumours suggested the bike will feature a 675cc engine but the Italians decided to build a new technologically more advanced engine. Kawasaki has unveiled the company’s first 2011 road model, the Z750 R. The latest naked bike from Kawasaki adds a new level of handling and braking sophistication to the class and is sure to win favour with the growing customer base for versatile, mid-weight machines that handle and stop as well as they look. With new 41mm highly adjustable front forks, matched by a an aluminium swinging arm and remote piggy-back rear shock, the handling package represented by the Z 750 R will reward riders looking for true Supersport handling from a naked motorcycle. Along with the 2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, Piaggio Group unveiled another bike, the 2011 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. The model pays homage to the classic V7 Sport race bike of the ’70s. The V7 Clubman Racer was initially announced at EICMA show as a 2010 production model but Moto Guzzi’s parent company later said it was a mistake. To celebrate the opening of its new flagship store in Milan, the Italian firm introduced a larger version of its supermoto and released some information about the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. The newest member of the brand’s supermoto line features a 1200cc 90-degree V-Twin engine which delivers 130hp at 8700 rpm and 85 ft-lb of torque at 7200 rpm. Aprilia says these numbers are at the top of its class. The new Dorsoduro uses similar chassis as its smaller brother but has a more sophisticated, fully adjustable rear suspension. The Japanese manufacturer decided to skip the Milan show last year due to economic crisis, but they won’t miss this year’s EICMA. The press office of Honda doesn’t say a word but rumours suggest Honda will be back stronger than ever. It seems they will be presenting eight new models at the 2010 show. They bring their latest motorcycle technology and new models, while at the INTERMOT show in Cologne (October 6-10) they will be presenting a range of new colors for their top selling models. The Indian manufacturer revealed its plans to enter the indian motorcycle market last month, and here’s a teaser video showing one of the company’s models in Italy. Mahindra, an established scooter, 4x4 and tractor manufacturer is moving into a competitive market, dominated primilarly by Japanese manufacturer Honda. “We’re looking to become a credible player in the two-wheeler space in India over the next few years,” said Anoop Mathur, the head of Mahindra’s motorcycle arm. The guys at Triumph are busy with the final high-speed track tests before the bike is officially launched. The new Tiger 800 was circulating the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. The bike is wired up with data-recording equipment, carried in the tail pack. It seems the motorcycle is complete bar final colors and graphics. The bike here is the road version with a 19” front rim – the off-road version will come with a 21” front wheel and knobby tire, plus a „beak” mudguard on the nose. Read the full article »

It’s not really a surprise that Erik Buell is planning a new street bike based on the 1190R. The source of this information is quite unusual: it appears on a t-shirt on the Rat Pak Records website along with an announcement of a teaser video coming September 14th. They don’t show the teaser, they tell you a teaser video is coming. The website also includes this short bit: „The 1190RS will be the new street bike from Erik Buell Racing! The design is currently in the pre-production / testing stage and is not yet available for public sale." Read the full article »

Daimler-owned Smart has released more plans for a plug-in electric scooter at the Paris Motor Show. The new motorcycle, depicted here in a couple of official sketches, is set to form part of Smart’s upcoming show spread. It’s currently uncertain when the scooter goes into production but knowing that Daimler plans to significantly broaden the Smart lineup we would say the fans of electric scooters don’t have to wait more than two years. This is a picture of the Kawasaki W650, that was released and available for sale in the United States for span of two years. It was thought part of the other markets, not India though, until 2008 and owing to this masterpiece was very well received by the press. Now, there are rumours that Kawasaki will announce soon a new retro model – the W800 -, an upsized version of the popular W400 and its predecessor, the W650, both parallel twins.
