The TT Zero race is in its third year and the clean emissions motorcycle race made a huge success so it’s no surprise that the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development has confirmed that the ground-breaking race will again take place on the Isle of Man in 2011. The American arm of Kawasaki has announced it is placing a technical hold on the 2011 Ninja ZX-10R sportbike. According to the manufacturer, there will be two actions initiated through the Kawasaki dealer network. “The company is proactively addressing a remedy which reflects Kawasaki’s commitment to excellence and its relationship with its highly valued customers and dealer network” says the company’s statement. According to MotoGP.com, the American media star is to launch her own MotoGP team. Hilton will join forces with the BQR set-up with riders Sergio Gadea and Maverick Viñales. Called SuperMartxe VIP by Paris Hilton, the team will compete in the 125cc class in 2011. The AMA has chosen Schwarzenegger as its Motorcyclist of the Year because he signed California Senate Bill 435, which brings EPA noise enforcement standards to the Golden State. With this law, California will require “every new motorcycle or aftermarket exhaust system built starting in 2013 to carry a stamp on the exhaust certifying that it meets federal Environmental Protection Agency sound requirements.” Read the full article »

The annual „Golden Helmet” award was held in Bologna last night and this year Max Biaggi, winner of the 2010 World Superbike Championship, collected Motosprint’s award. “It’s nice to win the gold helmet, but the top riders have a very specific meaning, which fills me with pride. For 2011, Italian brand Gilera has created a special edition version of its popular scooter, the Runner 50. This special series uses matt-finish black to enhance the fierce personality of the scooter and the same colour is used on other features such as the wheel rims and the passenger grab handles, whilst gold coloured finishes lend the scooter a supersport look: it has golden streamer graphics that decorate the saddle and fairing, the words Gilera and Runner in gold on the side panels, and gold coloured wheel rim borders.
