A student team in Eindhoven, Holland last week unveiled the design of its electric touring motor cycle. With this motorcycle the university students intend to take part in the 80 Day Race around the world in 2016. The touring bike set to be the first ever electric touring motorcycle with an impressive range and a modular battery pack. According to the designers, the bike will have a range of 240 miles. In 2015, almost every other manufacturer announced all-new or significantly upgraded supersport machines with game changing performance or features. It seems that scramblers are truly back. After Triumph and Ducati, BMW also created its own (custom) scrambler that was revealed yesterday at the Wheels & Waves Festival in Biarritz, France. Based on the existing R nineT, the Path 22 is BMW Motorrad’s first-ever Scrambler. John McGuinness took his 22nd and 23rd TT victory by winning the TT Zero and TT Senior races. The 43-year-old Brit an a 17:03.567 en route to winning the 2015 Senior TT. Furthermore, he shattered Bruce Anstey’s outright lap record from last year’s Superbike race with a sensational speed of 132.701mph. Kawasaki rider James Hillier looks set to claim the fastest ever speed recorded for a motorcycle on closed roads at the Isle of Man TT after registering over 331.52 kph (206mph) on the famous Sulby straight riding a Ninja H2R in a parade lap. The Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider declared himself nervous but excited at the prospect of guiding the closed-course-only Ninja H2R around the 37 mile circuit complete with its integrated supercharger and 300+ horsepower. Giorgio Armani has just took the wraps off a new special Vespa, the 946 Emporio. The scooter is set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Giorgio Armani and the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group. The 946 was named after the year 1946 and was developed jointly by Giorgio Armani and Piaggio to celebrate two of Italy’s most established symbols of style and creativity. In keeping with Armani’s signature subdued colour palette, the designer has come up with a special combination of greys with subtle hints of green visible only under particular light conditions for the project.
