Honda NSF250R coming to the U.S.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., has announced that the 2012 HRC NSF250R will be available in the U.S. Newly developed for FIM GP road racing competition in the Moto3 class, the NSF250R is powered by an all-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder 249cc four-stroke engine specifically designed for racing. In 2012, this globally distributed model will also be legal in the USGPRU Moto 3 and WERA Motorcycle Road Racing classes in the USA, as well as in other local racing events. Read the full article »

Video: Ducati Diavel Rizoma accessories

Rizoma has created a complete line of accessories to the Ducati Diavel. The kit includes an innovative aluminium handlebar which will improve riding position for some (height 8mm lower, open grip angle of +7°). Rizoma offers the latest side protections for the radiator and frame, the water pump guard, the newest EVO rearsets and two types of license support plates. Video: Walz Hardcore Cycles GTO

German custom motorcycle builder Walz Hardcore Cycles have just revealed their latest creation: the GTO bike. The newest creation of Marcus Walz and his company is a pro-street-style custom. Look how’d you have to ride it: grips like a street racer, pegs up front, the pipes ending right under your upper thigh. Video: Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special

Dark and sinister, the restyled Night Rod Special features a new tapered tail section, lighter-weight wheels, and improved ergonomics with reduced reach to both the rider footpegs and handlebar. Inverted front forks and retuned rear suspension enhance ride and handling. This is a blacked-out, dead-on power cruiser that's at home in a back alley. 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour revealed

American manufacturer Victory just released its 2012 line-up. New is the Cross Country Tour, which it says "sets a new high standard for hard baggers, providing riders with unprecedented comfort and the greatest cargo capacity of any production motorcycle in the world." The bike features Victory Comfort Control System, new tall windshield, Specially Equipped Hard Lowers, iPod-cable, 12 Volt power outlet, Lock & Ride trunk (17.7 gallons of storage), non-linked ABS, heated grips and seats, adjustable passanger floorboards. Read the full article »

Study: Lane splitting is safe

A new study says lane splitting could be the global solution for motorcycle safety. Motorcycle safety researcher Steve Guderian compares instances of rear-end collisions in California - where lane splitting is not expressly prohibited - to states with similar riding seasons and number of riders. The data from NHTSA shows that California does have a lower rate of fatal rear-end motorcycle crashes when compared to other similar motorcycling states. Read the full article »

Suzuki Hayabusa-based motorcycle breaks 300 MPH barrier

NASA's Space Shuttle program may be winding down, but Bill Warner continues to reach for the stars. On Sunday July 17th, 2011 at Loring Air Force Base, in Limestone, Maine, he became the first man to exceed 300 mph riding a sit-on motorcycle with a stunning 311.94 mph run. Bill would like to extend a special thanks to Ward Performance and Motors by Knecum for giving him the potential for the 1000 horsepower required to achieve his lifelong goal to be the first man to surpass 300 MPH on a motorcycle. Video: Chad Reed Crash

Footage of Chad Reed's spectacular crash on the opening lap of the second 450 Class moto at the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship's Spring Creek National in Millville, MN, on July 16. Reed had just assumed the lead, looking to take his fifth win of the season, before losing control of his bike and flying upwards of 50 feet through the air. Despite the frightening fall, Reed came away virtually unscathed, and after collecting his breath, returned to action. After crossing the line in 34th of 35 riders, Reed fought his way into 14th by the end of the moto. Read the full article »
