2015 was and is the year of customization for Yamaha. Yamaha Yard Built, the manufacturer’s custom project for European builders is up and running, another similar project was revealed a few months back and they have just revealed an app. Yamaha My Garage is a free app that allows customers to choose a bike from the Sport Heritage series (XSR700, VMAX, XJR1300, XV950 etc.) and explore all the customization options before choosing the parts you want. German motorcycle manufacturer Horex rises from the ashes of bankruptcy with an all-new model. The unique-looking VR6 Silver Edition was presented at Frankfurt Motor Show in Frankfurt. The roadster is still based on the original VR6 but the bike features a number of updates including a more powerful engine, extensive use of carbon fibre, top-shelf suspension parts, and more premium materials. Husqvarna has just revealed the full specifications of its newest bike, the 701 Supermoto. The bike features a lightweight frame, a liquid-cooled singly capable of delivering 67hp and 67 Nm of torque, advanced ABS brakes, and WP suspension parts. But the 701 Supermoto is not the only new model from Husqvarna – according to Asphalt & Rubber, an enduro version is also in the works as another 2016 model year bike. Read the full article »

The day has finally come, Ducati has just revealed its most powerful naked bike ever at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. The Monster 1200R’s 1198cc Testastretta twin-cylinder engine makes 160hp and 131Nm while wet weight is 207kg. Dainese has just announced a new jacket that will reach new levels of rider safety. The Dainese D-Air Misano 1000 jacket is the first of its kind that features a stand-alone electronically deployed airbag for road use. The Misano 1000 has a unique construction that differs from all other airbags used in the automotive industry. Kawasaki USA is recalling certain model year 2009-2015 Vulcan 1700 Voyager and 2011-2015 Vulcan 1700 Vaquero motorcycles manufactured February 2, 2009, to March 20, 2015. In the affected vehicles, an ignition wire may chafe due to contact with the fuel tank, resulting in a short circuit and possible engine stall which increases the risk of a crash. The newest one is GenZe, a small company in Silicon Valley, owned by Indian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra. Yamaha joined the 250-350cc market for entry-level sport bikes with the YZF-R3. It took a bit for Yamaha to join this fray, but in a timely manner its naked 321cc MT/FZ counterpart is confirmed to be coming soon. This custom BMW R100RT is not the fastest custom bike we’ve seen this year but in this case, speed is absolutely irrelevant because this bike looks just stunning.
