Honda introduces a wave of 2012 offroad machines

Honda introduces another wave of machines for the 2012 model year, which include a wide assortment of dual-sport and off-road motorcycles, ATVs and the Big Red MUV. New photos of the 2011 Suzuki Hayabusa

As expected, the Japanese company didn’t make any major changes on the power of the Hayabusa. However, they made changes on the graphics and the color of the bike. The new GSX 1340 R is available in new colors including Nebular Black with red trim and Pearl Mirage White with gold trim. The 1340cc DOHC inline-four still produces 197hp and 155Nm of torque, but the company updated the 6-speed transmission to make gear changes more comfortable and easy. Read the full article »

Video: BMW M3 vs. BMW S1000 RR

Never enough of car vs. bike videos. In this latest video we can see two of BMW’s finest machines, an M3 and an S1000 RR. Here's how the racing duel went - Rico and Nico are friends and they wanted to find out which one's faster: A BMW S 1000 RR or a BMW M3. The Bavarian manufacturer gave them the chance for a little extra tuning, put them on a racetrack and filmed the race. It sounds simple, but during the race it starts raining. After revealing the 125cc and 300cc versions of the MP3 Yourban maxi scooter family, Piaggio took the wraps off the LT version of the MP3 300, which can be ridden with a normal class driving license. The new LT is based on the Mp3 Yourban 300 model, and stands out because of a few approval compliance characteristics such as the front track, increased to 465mm, motorcycle type turn indicators, the LED daylight running light built into the headlight assembly and the integral braking which can also be activated on the Yourban LT with the pedal on the footrest. Read the full article »

Sims Motorsports’ Suzuki Hayabusa will do 213 mph or 370 km/h

Sims Motorsports returns with a special monster: a 1510cc Suzuki Hayabusa that is capable of reaching a top speed of 213 mph or 370 km/h. The list of modifications on this bike is very long: bored-out engine, forged pistons, high-lift camshafts with adjustable cam sprockets, stainless steel valves, ceramic bearings in the front and rear wheels for reduced rolling friction, two-stage lockup clutch, Schnitz PNC-3000 nitrous controller and Bazzaz Z-Fi fuel computer. Read the full article »

Kawasaki WSBK team lorries „found to contain drugs”

British newspaper The Telegraph reports that lorries belonging to the Kawasaki WSBK team were stopped by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) at Dover last month after arriving by road from Italy. On board of the trucks, officers allegedly found 18lbs of cocaine, 157lbs of amphetamine tablets and more than 220lbs of cannabis. A handgun and 35 rounds of ammunition were also found. Four technicians (Philip Roe, 40, mechanic and truck driver, Gary Matthews, 50, a truck driver and tyre technician; Mattia Fontana, 27, an Italian mechanic, and Daniel Swyer, 32, a mechanic) from Paul Bird Motorsport were arrested. Read the full article »
