Rizoma special parts for the 2011 Triumph Speed riple 1050

Rizoma has developed a complete kit to the Queen of naked bikes, the new Triumph Speed triple 1050. The most effective components are a mix of risers/handlebars/grips, levers, mirrors, which change completely the „dashboard” look. There are new high-tech EVO rearsets which are perfectly integrated into the frame and allow eight different adjustment options. The articulated connection to the peg houses a tiny screw, which can keep the peg from pivoting for a higher performance on the race track. Read the full article »

2011 Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC official video

For some of you that don’t know Aprilia’s Tuono V4 is the naked version of one of the finest sports bike - the RSV4. The naked bike is powered by the RSV4’s detuned 65-degree V4 delivering 167hp. This makes the Tuono the most powerful bike in its category, unless you count the Yamaha V-Max. The Tuono V4 R is now available with the APRC package. The California-based company has a nice collection of pristine condition bikes for sale, but they also have a huge collection of books, manuals and vintage footages. MotoGP goes to Austin, Texas

Dorna Sports has announced signing a ten-year contract bringing MotoGP to the new Circuit of the Americas facility in Austin, Texas from 2013. This agreement includes the three categories of the World Championship; the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. The addition of a ten-year MotoGP deal is coupled with the already scheduled ten-year deal to host the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, for which the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas is currently under construction. Read the full article »

2011 Gilera Runner: four sporty models from 50 to 200cc

Italian manufacturer Gilera has released new high-res images of its 2011 Runner line-up. The Runner ST 125 and ST 200 are powered by liquid cooled, four valve, four-stroke engines, while the sporty 50cc versions are powered by HI Per 2 two-stroke engines with carburettor (Runner SP) or fuel injection (Runner PJ): three different engine capacities in four brilliantly-designed engines, all of which are liquid cooled. Read the full article »

New high-res pictures of the 2011 Aprilia Tuono V4 R

Aprilia released 127 high-res pictures of the 2011 Tuono V4 R and V4 R APRC, which was revealed back at EICMA show last November. The V4 R is one of its kind with a V4 engine which delivers 167hp at 11,500rpm and 111.5Nm at 9,500rpm. The R version features new valve timing diagram, longer intake ducts, shortened gear ratios, and new crankshaft flywheel with increased inertia. The 999.6cc engine is coupled with a 6-speed direct-control cassette-type gearbox. Read the full article »

Screwdriver-powered vehicle “EX”

Excentricity is defined as a deviation from what is ordinary or customary. To match this definition, four guys - Nils Ferber, Sebastian Auray, Ruben Faber and Ludolf von Oldershausen - couldn´t just modify an existing vehicle but had to start designing something new from scratch. The result is a completely new driving concept: The driver lies headlong on his three-wheeled vehicle and accelerates the "EX" with sprawled out arms up to 30 km/h. Read the full article »

Vespa days Rome: presenting the 2011 Vespa PX 125 and PX 150

Vespa celebrated its best selling model, the PX with a special week which ended on the 1st April in Rome with a parade of Vespa devotees through the city centre. The birthday of the world’s most famous best-selling scooter – more than 17 million vehicles sold – is 23 April, the day when the patent that gave the go-ahead to mass production of the very first version, the Vespa 98cc, was filed in Florence. Read the full article »

BMW Motorrad: record sales for 2011 Q1

The German manufacturer recorded a growth of 12.3% in 2010 over the previous year, but the 2011 Q1 numbers are even better. The brand significantly exceeded the previous year’s figures in the first three months of the year. Sales rose 10.9% to 23,109 units. BMW Motorcycles thus achieved the best quarterly result in its history. A total of 11,675 BMW motorcycles were delivered in March 2011 – an increase of 1.2%. Husqvarna Motorcycles delivered 1,940 motorcycles (+18.3%) to customers in the first quarter and 676 motorcycles (-17%) in the month of March. Read the full article »
