The North American division of Honda Motor Company announced today additions for the 2011 model year, four street bikes, namely the VT1300CR Stateline ($11,799 MSRP), VT 1300CS Sabre ($11,899 MSRP), VT750C Shadow Aero ($7,999 MSRP) and NT700V. Victory has added a new model to its lineup, the High-Ball. The manufacturer unveiled the low-slung bike in New York prior to the opening of the NYC stop of the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows. The bike features high-rise, adjustable handlebars, spoked 16-inch wheels and classic styling elements. The engine is a massive 106 cubic inch V-twin that delivers 97hp and 113 ft./lbs. of torque. The Dunlop tyres are 1300mm in front and 150mm in the back. Many of the Victory Vegas accessories will bolt on to the High-Ball. Read the full article »

Honda’s American R&D arm has revealed a concept bike based on the VT1300. The Sabre Switchblade, which took styling cues from Formula 1 and MotoGP, features the VT1300’s engine & tank, fully adjustable sport suspension, carbon fibre custom bodywork and spec seat, chain drive, single sided swing arm conversion, racing spec brakes, carbon fibre 18” rear wheel, onboard GPS lap timer & data acquisition unit, oversized Billet Top and lower bridge, air/box cleaner conversion. Kawasaki’s Vulcan 1700 is a motorcycle that combines comfort, style and functionality. The Vaquero (pronounced va-kero, Spanish for cowboy) shares its 1700cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, 52-degree V-twin with the Vulcan Classic, Vulcan Nomad and Vulcan Voyager. Cobra Engineering’s Special Projects Division has drawn five concept bikes based on the Honda VT750 Shadow’s V-twin, a Scrambler, Café Racer, Street Fighter, Dirt Tracker and Bobber. “Once again, Cobra Engineering will undertake a multi-bike custom project. Back in 1996 Cobra did a similar project with American Honda around the 750 Ace, building what would come to be known as the Four Aces. In 2011 the Italian manufacturer celebrates 100 years of producing motorcycles. The company created two special editiom models, the TnT 1130 Century Racer and the TnT 899 Century Racer. Both bikes pay homage to the racing legend of Pasolini via a Centenary Green paint scheme which gives the TnT a more sportier attitude. The engineers equipped the Century Racer with fully adjustable Marzocchi fork at the front. The Italians used Brembo radial brakes and yellow rear ahock absorber. Read the full article »

The British manufacturer continues to announce its 2011 model lineup. The two newest member are the 2011 Speedmaster and Thruxton. The new Speedmaster features an air-cooled 865cc parallel-twin, 270 degree crank engine. The bike got unique 'hot rod' style. Triumph has updated its popular cruiser for the 2011 model year. The America got new, more classic styling and a wide range of accessories which allow customers to create an individual look. The engineers pulled the handlebars back, and the seat height is now only 690mm which creates a greater harmony between rider and machine.
