The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, also known as „The race to the clouds” is always an exciting bike event of the summer, where cars and bikes face 156 turns on an average grade of 7%. In 2010, a stock Ducati Multistrada 1200 S won in the hands of Pikes Peak’s veteran, Greg Tracy. To celebrate the great victory, Ducati created a special Multistrada. For those Ducati Monster owners that only want to add pure Italian made products to their Ducati, then look no further. Top Italian performance exhaust manufacturers LeoVince have just released some new slip-on exhausts, called the LV-ONE, for the Monster. Rumors say that the Ducati Diavel is doing great in sales, but it’s really no surprise. The Italian “power cruiser” looks beautiful, its 1200cc V-twin is powerful, the bike has fully adjustable suspension, front and rear, meaning it’s one of the sportiest nakeds on the market, although it doesn’t have any near rivals. Super Wheels took two of the finest power cruisers currently available on the market – the brutal Yamaha V-Max and the new Ducati Diavel, and organized a race between them. The V-Max is powered by a huge, 1700cc V4 delivering 200hp and 167Nm of torque. The Japanese bike weighs 310kg. The Italian Diavel is lighter, but it’s 1200cc high-tech Testastretta engine produces „just” 162hp. Which one is faster on the track? Here’s the first onboard video of a Ducati Diavel. And not just any Diavel, the bike on the video is a Diavel Carbon Black. This version was introduced last December. The bike features glossy black tank, black intakes and headlamp. In addition to that, Ducati drops the red Diavel’s metal looking air intakes for the matte black revision. The North American arm of Ducati announced its third consecutive quarter of motorcycle sales growth, beginning 2011 with a 68% Q1 retail sales increase over the same period in 2010. And what’s even more better, the success appears to be across the entire 2011 range of motorcycles. Jorge Lorenzo took victory in the wet MotoGP race at the Gran Premio bwin de España after Marco Simoncelli crashed whilst leading. It was a Spanish one-two with Dani Pedrosa claiming second position and Nicky Hayden in third. In a race which was run in wet conditions, making it very slippery, Simoncelli was on his way to his first victory in the premier class with a three second advantage over Lorenzo.
