Nolan introduced its 2011 lineup

The Italian company launched its 2011 helmet lineup at the EICMA show last week. The new, enhanced lineup includes three new products: the N71, the N63 and the N33. The first one, the N71 is a „crossover” full-face helmet but has a removable chin guard. In the full-face configuration, the N71 offers maximum protection, and features internal sunscreen (VPS – Vision Protection System). The second helmet, the N63 is a new full-face road helmet designed for city use. The third helmet, the N33 is a demi-jet helmet suitable for city riding, but is also suitable for touring. Read the full article »

Ducati updated the Monster EVO for 2011

The Italian manufacturer presented the 2011 Monster 1100 EVO at EICMA show in Milan. The updated bike is lighter and more powerful, and now features standard ABS and Ducati Traction ontrol (DTC). The 2011 Monster weighs just 373lbs, 4lbs less than the 2010 version. The updated engine delivers five extra horsepower, which means the 2011 Monster is the first two-valve Ducati that reaches 100hp. New 10-spoke wheels replace the five-spoke units on the 2010 models, with Pirelli Diablo Rosso remaining the OE tire. Brembo binders now come with ABS as standard, available as an option on previous models. Read the full article »

KTM 450 Rally: new Dakar race bike introduced

KTM finally decided not to pull out of Dakar after the announcement of the new 450cc capacity limit from 2011. The manufacturer introduced today the 450 Rally which is KTM’s response to the new rule. The race bike features a massive trellis frame, a high-performance engine with larger bore and smaller stroke. The engineers coupled the single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with a 5-speed gearbox. Other interesting facts about the bike: the 450 Rally has a dry weight of 150kg (330lbs) and features a 35-liter (9.2 gallons) fuel tank that saddles the frame. The 450 Rally carries a price tag of €29,300 ($41,200). A spare engine costs €5,000 extra. Read the full article »

2011 Vespa PX 125/150: handshift and kick start

Vespa introduced its 2011 lineup, including the refreshed PX 125, PX 150 and the GTV scooters. Its no surprise that Vespa maintains all of the classic strong points which determined the PX’s success for more than three decades: unmistakable style, functionality, sturdiness of a steel bodyshell, reliability. Husqvarna Mille 3 Concept: a cruiser with a V3 engine

Husqvarna unveiled today the Mille 3 Concept – a lightweight, V3-powered cruiser/sportsbike. The bike, which appears to be a crazy cross between a tracker, a cruiser and a sportsbike, is powered by a 930cc V-triple (one in two cylinders, one vertical cylinder) engine. Husqvarna says, "Emotion is irrational, curiosity is a gift, and anti-conformism is innate. 2011 Aprilia RS4 125: small sportsbike coming to America

Aprilia will import a new small displacement sportsbike to the U.S. The machine, called the RS4 125 replaces the 125 and features a 125cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. The engine is fuel-injected and has 4 valves and double overhead camshaft valve actuation system. The Italian engineers coupled the engine with a six-speed gearbox. The RS4 has a twin-spar aluminium frame with a 41mm inverted front fork and a shock absorber out back. Weight is 264 lbs with a full 3.8 gallon tank of gas. BMW Concept C: the scooter of the future

Recent years have seen radical changes in the world of individual mobility, specifically in the conurbations, and the number of registrations has rocketed for virtually all individual transport concepts. However, the space available to traffic has not grown to the same extent, so individual mobility must come to terms with the new circumstances. Against this background, BMW Motorrad will be expanding its present motorcycle adventure world to include the big scooter. 2011 KTM 350 EXC-F Factory: the power of a 450, the agility of a 250

KTM introduced its new 350 EXC-F Factory, a newly developed factory bike claims no less than to be the most sophisticated and best four stroke racing Enduro ever. By limiting itself to a 350 cc capacity, KTM intends to transfer the sensational success of the 350 SX-F in the Motocross World Championship to the Enduro segment. The basic tenet of combining the low weight of a 250 with the power of a 450 will give the 350 EXC-F the edge. Combining massive performance with awesome agility makes for efficient, energy-saving rideability, which is at least as important in Enduro competitions as it is in Motocross races. Read the full article »

Honda Crossrunner: new middleweight adventure bike from Honda

The Japanese brand has finally unveiled its new middleweight adventure bike, the Crossrunner. The machine is fitted with a 782cc V4 engine which delivers 102hp and 54 lbs-ft of torque. „The Crossrunner represents the best aspects of two separate biking genres: the flexibility and exciting attitude of a naked performance machine with the upright riding position and rugged appearance of an adventure bike,” says a press release from Honda. Read the full article »

2011 MV Agusta F3 revealed – with video

The new MV Agusta – the anticipated F3 – is finally out. The Italian manifacturer says the F3 is the most technologically advanced 600cc motorcycle ever produced. Thebike features a whole range of electronics – ride-by-wire with multi maps, traction control. The bike has an advanced frame which incorporates a mix of steel tubing and aluminium side plates that wrap around the ultra compact engine.
