Industrial automotive spy photography company Brenda Priddy & Company was able to take some pictures of a mysterious Honda in the Alps. According to Motorcycle USA, the bike on the photo is a new entry-level model featuring dual-clutch transmission. BP & C says that the bike will be powered by a 6-700cc variant of the V-four found in the 2011 CFR1200F. The new Honda comes noticeably without a clutch lever and shifter pedal. American actor Steve McQueen (1930-1980) was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, and when he had the opportunity to drive in a movie, he performed many of his own stunts. For those who don’t know him, here is a commercial in which he promoted the 1973 Honda CR250 „Elsinore” for one million dollars. Honda unveiled its new middleweitht adventure bike last November at EICMA. Now, we have more photos of the V4-powered machine which is fitted with a 782cc engine delivering 102hp and 54 lbs-ft of torque. According to Honda, the Crossrunner offers the flexibility and exciting attitude of a naked performance machine with the upright riding position and rugged appearance of an advanture bike. Jorge Lorenzo took victory in the wet MotoGP race at the Gran Premio bwin de España after Marco Simoncelli crashed whilst leading. It was a Spanish one-two with Dani Pedrosa claiming second position and Nicky Hayden in third. In a race which was run in wet conditions, making it very slippery, Simoncelli was on his way to his first victory in the premier class with a three second advantage over Lorenzo. Honda has announced that it will be restarting motorcycle production at its Kumamoto factory as of Monday, March 28th. Initially closing all its facilities in Japan after the devastation caused by the Sendai earthquake, Kumamoto will be one of Honda’s first facilities to re-open in almost two weeks’ time. Other factories, such as Sayama, Saitama, and Suzuka facilities will remain closed through April 3rd, and Honda will make a decision on when to restart production at those locations later. Japanese sports industry is now facing hard times after last Friday’s earthquake and tsunami. Reports said that the 9.0-magnitude earthquake caused cracks on the track and also damaged spectator seats at the Motegi circuit (90 miles north of Tokyo), which has led to MotoGP World Championship being rearranged for October. The race was originally scheduled for April 24. The MotoGP season is due to get under way at Losail in Qatar. A domestic road race there next Sunday was also knocked off the circuit's calendar. The third and final day of the second pre-season MotoGP Test at Sepang concluded on Thursday, and rounding off the three days as the fastest rider on each was Casey Stoner. Getting well under the 2’00” mark with a best effort of 1’59.665 – Valentino Rossi’s 2009 circuit best lap had already been surpassed by both Stoner and Dani Pedrosa the previous day – the Australian continued what has been an impressive switch to the RC212V in the lead-up to the 2011 campaign.
