The Austrian company introduced the new 990 SM T with the addition of dual-channel ABS system engineered by Bosch at the Intermot show this week. Just how good are the new brakes? KTM calls its new 990 SM T the “Queen of negative acceleration.” The bike features dual 305mm discs front and 240mm rotor back. After three years of hiatus, the Japanese brand has finally bought us the successor of the popular W650 classic bike. The newbie, called the W800 is set to take on Triumph’s Bonneville range. The W800 features a vertical twin engine, large diameter wheels, traditional instrumentation, and lots of metal – plastic was eshewed in favour of metal as much as possible. The W800 uses a lightweight double-crade frame, telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers with adjustable preload. This combination offers a smooth ride and clean look. After seeing the Agni Z2 and the Citroen Survolt take to the track, here’s another bikes vs. cars comparison video. The BMW S1000 RR is without doubt one of the biggest hit in the supersport category in 2010, while the GT-R even managed to compete on equal terms with Porsche of late. We already know how well the Bimmer against its Japanese and Italian two-wheeler rivals performs, but what about cars? Kawasaki’s new Z750R has a lot of good things going for it. The „R” version has some design tweaks, new fully adjustable forks and a revised rear shock. But you don’t need to know any of this to start your $/€, all you need is the official video. Kawasaki says of the bike “The Z750R is an impressive package. Although Ducati quits SBK at the end of the season, and this will presumably be the end of Xerox title sponsorship of a factory race team, the american company, whose name is synonymous with photocopying, would like to capitalize on this relationship while it can. The result is a semi-engaging ad, in which Xerox shows that Ducati have chosen Xerox for their business needs. Erik Buell Racing continues to release information about its new 1190RS street bike. This new video, which is the first in a multiple-part series, gives us only a quick glimpse of the V-Twin superbike. Although details are scare, we do know that the bike is based on the 1190RR race bike, which was originally based in-turn off the now defunct Buell Barracuda 2. Former owner of Buell Harley-Davidson closed down Buell before the Barracuda 2 could make it into production. We’re expecting more videos to come. Read the full article »

To celebrate the opening of its new flagship store in Milan, the Italian firm introduced a larger version of its supermoto and released some information about the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. The newest member of the brand’s supermoto line features a 1200cc 90-degree V-Twin engine which delivers 130hp at 8700 rpm and 85 ft-lb of torque at 7200 rpm. Aprilia says these numbers are at the top of its class. The new Dorsoduro uses similar chassis as its smaller brother but has a more sophisticated, fully adjustable rear suspension. The Indian manufacturer revealed its plans to enter the indian motorcycle market last month, and here’s a teaser video showing one of the company’s models in Italy. Mahindra, an established scooter, 4x4 and tractor manufacturer is moving into a competitive market, dominated primilarly by Japanese manufacturer Honda. “We’re looking to become a credible player in the two-wheeler space in India over the next few years,” said Anoop Mathur, the head of Mahindra’s motorcycle arm. Tha Austrian company is hard work on its new 125cc streetbike, which still needs a name. This model will be the first of the manufacturer’s new range of 125 to 300cc entry level street bikes.
