Yamaha introduced its EC-03 electric scooter concept in 2009 at the EICMA show, and the bike is heading into serial production next spring. Here’s a promo video of the e-moped which features a 1.6 kW brushless DC motor, lithium-ion battery, drum brakes and a planetary gear transmission housed inside the rear wheel hub. The range is expected to be around 25 km (15 miles)on a single charge. Price will be around €2,400 ($3,300).
