After nearly a decade of history and success, Piaggio Beverly got a full revamp in style and technology earlier this year. The new Beverly boasts a stylish, unique look and offers safety and performance levels in line with the reputation of the scooter that has dominated the market during the first decade of the millennium. Available in the 125 and 300 cc engine capacity versions, the Beverly stands out for its top-of-the-class equipment and finish.
The elegant, sophisticated lines of the new Piaggio Beverly stem from a careful review of its traditional styling elements that evolved into a totally new, elegant design that is a strong reminder of the Beverly’s past and success history. The front end is eye-catching, with the new dual-reflector headlight assembly and the turn indicators integrated into the innovative LED daylight running lights at the sides of the distinctive chrome element in the middle of the leg shield. The two-colour scheme of the bodywork, with coloured parts alternating with aluminium-look painted inserts blends in with the matching coloured saddle and interiors. The innovative metal-look finish central element running along the vehicle enhances its sleek lines and its muscular, dynamic attitude. The details of handlebar, leg shield back plate and central tunnel – that fits a new, motorcycle-derived tank cap – complement the unique, unmistakably Italian design of the scooter.
Piaggio Beverly comes with two different engines, with 125 and 300 cc capacity, both featuring electronic injection system. The 300 cc single-cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve engine with electronic injection delivers a maximum power of 22.2 hp at 7,250 rpm, with a torque output of 23 Nm at as little as 5,750 rpm. With such specs comes a throttle response to match, coupled with feisty performance, making the new Beverly ideal both for tackling congested town traffic and for long-range touring in full comfort, whether riding solo or two-up. The new Beverly’s 125 engine is also equipped with electronic injection, significantly cutting consumption (- 20%) and maintenance costs (- 20%). In addition, the new ECS (Electric Cooling System) water cooling absorbs less energy and helps reduce fuel consumption. With both engine capacities, the new Beverly is fast, sporty, spirited, and silky smooth thanks to electronic fuel injection, but also silent running and environment friendly. The oil-bath free wheel system reduces noise on start-up, whereas quiet running is enhanced by the new engine casing that also ensures improved drive train cooling.
Beverly 300 ie and 125 ie will be available in the elegant colour schemes Perseus Bronze, Pearl White, Midnight Blue, Cosmo Black and Antares Red.
