Yamaha has revealed a power-scooter dubbed as NMAX which will be a global product. Produced in Indonesia, the NMAX will be launched in Asia before brought to other markets. The scooter features a newly-developed 155cc liquid-cooled SOHC engine based on the BLUE CORE concept. The new model was developed with the concept “Global Prestige City Commuter” and inherits the DNA of the MAX series, with sporty handling and styling while combining practicality.
The NMAX comes as a new face to the MAX series, which already has an expansive lineup led by the 530cc TMAX, followed by the XMAX in 400cc, 250cc, and 125cc configurations. The new scooter sits between the 125cc and 250cc TMAX models on the lineup. The 155cc engine of the NMAX develops 15hp of power and 14.4 Nm of torque mated to a CVT transmission.
Main features include a new liquid-cooled engine developed based on the BLUE CORE concept, with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation), a lightweight and high-rigidity frame that supports sharp and sporty handling, a 13-inch tire that is specially developed for this model to help provide natural handling, ABS to support sporty performance (the first ASEAN scooter model to be equipped with the system), and unique styling reminiscent of the MAX series.
