Peugeot are celebrating a podium top spot for their Kisbee scooter in the race for European motorcycle and scooter sales. Figures released by The Motorcycle Industry in Europe (ACEM) show that, for the second year running, Peugeot’s Kisbee 50 was Europe’s most popular scooter, selling 43% more than its nearest rival in the charts, the Honda SH150AD.
Peugeot sold 12,500 Kisbee 50 in the EU in 2014. It was the third best selling powered two wheeler in Europe; BMW’s R1200GS (18,000 units) and the Yamaha MT-07 (13,000 units) claiming the two top spots.
Its 50cc 4-stroke engine features an updated piston design, lighter con-rod and 3 chamber exhaust, producing extra torque while remaining compact, lightweight and reliable. It delivers over 100 mpg yet emits around 30% less Co2 than an equivalent size 2-stroke scooter.
Chunky 12″ wheels with sports profile tyres, telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers give it a sure-footed feel on the road and, weighing just 90kg, it’s easy to squeeze into the tightest parking spaces. Capacity for two people and a full face helmet under the seat add to the day-to-day practicality.
